37 doesn't sound that pretty, but it can look pretty good! When I was younger, I had this whole image in my head of what a person should be doing at the age of 37. Actually, I didn't think about the age 37 specifically. I thought about the age of 25. That is when I felt a person was all grown up and probably had life all figured out. When I was a kid, I thought by 25 you were supposed to be in your career, be married, have a house, possibly a kid and a dog! I had none of those things by that age and looking back; I'm very thankful that I didn't.
Here I am all those years later, still figuring out life and enjoying every step of it...even the steps that aren't pretty. What I've learned about myself in my thirties has been all about self-discovery. This birthday shoot meant so much to me. I got to create fantastic art with the ladies of Four Women! If you haven't noticed by these pictures and probably by my IG feed, I love flowers. I am truly my name! I think flowers are one of the beautiful things God has created, after women of course!
There are so many similarities between a woman and a flower. For us to bloom, we must be showered with love, and I think when that showering of love comes from within we shine even brighter. The very essence of a woman is beautiful, the growth, the way we blossom, even when we wilt. There is nothing more beautiful! This year I wanted to show that grace and beauty in this photoshoot. One of the things I've become very proud of is the level of comfort I have with myself. Like many other women, I still can pick myself apart, but I genuinely appreciate the skin I'm in! I owe that credit to my mom btw.
In this next year, I plan to focus on self-care...I pledge to myself to be kind and honor all that is true to me. I'll be living life in full bloom!
